Customs prescriptions

Used household goods and personal effects can be imported into the UK duty and tax free so long as the importer:

• Is moving his normal home to the UK.
• Has had their normal home outside the UK for a continous period of at least 12 months.
• Has possesed and used them for at leaswt 6 months outside the UK before they are imported.
• Will retain them for their own personal use.
• Will not sell, lend hire out or otherwise dispose of all of them in the UK or elsewhere in the EU within 12 months of importation.

The shipment can arrive no more than six months after the date on the importer´s letter of approval from customs with their unique reference number on.

The transferee will be required to submit documentary proof to validate their status sucha as:

• Proof of residence outside the UK fore over 12 months.
• Passport.
• Visa (if non-UK Passport holder).
• Proof of registration in the UK , this should show you are liviung in the UK.
• Signed inventory in English.

Alcoholic drinks and Tobacco products

All alcoholic drinks and tobacco products are subject to duty and tax upon importation unless tehy are hand – carried by the importer.

Restricted/Dutiable Items

• Firearms, explosives, and ammunition.
• Fruit, vegetable, and plant products.
• Cigarettes (200), cigarillos (100), cigars (50), tobacco (250g).
• Spirits / liqueurs (more than 22% - 1 liter).
• Fortified wine or alcohol less than 22% (2 liters), still wine (4 liters), beer (16 L).
• Imitation firearms.
• Offensive weapons.
• Live animals.
• Endangered animals or plants and products thereof (required a valid CITES permit).
• Fur skins and articles made from fur skin.
• Radio transmitters.
• Rough diamonds.
• Animal food products.

Prohibited Items

• Illicit drugs.
• Knives.
• Self-defense sprays.
• Stun guns.
• Indecent and obscene material.
• Counterfeit, pirated and patent-infringing goods.
• Milk products from outside the European Union (England, Scotland).
