The time finally arrived when Universal Cargo completed forty years of life. For a human being, forty years is a clear sign of maturity, and for us as well.
Our childhood saw us with many illusions. We started humbly in an office in downtown Buenos Aires when telex was still in use, and typewriters were not sold in antique shops. The fax had yet to arrive. It was all very romantic. Paper files everywhere. Automatic transfers were a dream... checks arrived in an envelope! International calls used to be requested several hours in advance. Now, that is done in seconds by talking on the cell phone... There was a lot of passion for everything. Little by little, the dream started to become a reality.

There was no magic formula or silver bullet to reach adolescence. The human resource was fundamental: this helped us to weather the many storms that appeared along the way. When passion was not enough, we looked for a purpose. And as the years went by, we learned to adapt to the market's demands. On the one hand, we had to incorporate all sorts of technology.

On the other hand, we had to update our human resources to keep up with the competitive demands. The experience gained in international moving was incorporated into other services, completing our commercial portfolio. One area of the company boosted the other, creating an exciting synergy. Today, we are a big family when the different regions come together.

As an internal catchphrase, we usually say that Universal Cargo is in the business of transporting "personal feelings" instead of personal effects. This does not appear in the customs regulations; it is formally postulated as "unaccompanied baggage" or "transport used household goods abroad." international transport, as they say in Spain. All this reflects something other than the emotional load of what we do every day. Transporting "personal belongings" implies taking part in a family's life history, that which reminds you of where you come from, that piece of grandmother's furniture, the first dictionary you were given as a child, or the picture your father painted when you were not yet born, and delivering it to the other side of the world, for example.

We move "personal affections" when a person progresses in his career or looks for personal improvement in another country when he meets his family, and we also have to be there in not-so-pleasant moments. There, we also have to offer support and empathy. We try that every member of our company, no matter where he/she is, understands this feeling and applies it to his/her work. We want them to know the importance that each client assigns us when they hire us. He gives us part of his life. We try to make our work have that affection. .
